Grochówka (Pea Soup)

Ingredients:

1 medium size piece of smoked bacon
1 cup of dried peas (left for the night to soak in water)
3-4 table spoons of marjoram
3 medium size carrots (peeled and chopped)
3 medium size potatoes (peeled and chopped into small pieces)
3 bay leaves
Salt
Pepper
3-4 tablespoons of sour cream (12 percent)

Preparation:

Fill half a pan with water and add soaked peas TOGETHER with the water you soaked then in. Chop bacon into small pieces and ass to the peas.

Add the rest of the ingredients apart from salt and sour cream.

Bring it all to boil, then simmer till potatoes and peas are soft. If peas are soft, but potatoes not yet, don’t worry, keep simmering. Then, add sour cream slowly, stirring the soup constantly.

Serve hot.
